Back Surgery etc.

Jonathan had back surgery yesterday.  He has spinal stinosis.  It's a degenerative thing but hopefully this surgery will last a long time.   I am currently feeding our cat Obie through a feeding tube.  He has fatty liver disease, which is reversable, if he has food in him for a while.  So, eventually, he is going to be off the feeding tube.   Making the feeding tube food is NOT fun.  We have a special cat food high in calories and water and I mix it with water (all measured out perfectly) and then try and get it to come into the syringe.  That didn't work so I tried spooning it into the syringe.  That KINDA works. lol  And when you put the water and food down his tube it's kinda messy too.  It's ok because I love my cat and I want to see him get better soon!! I can tell he is a little happier now when I feed him.   I hope to see him try to eat on his own soon.

My sister had her son's 1st birthday over this weekend and we stayed at her lovely house.  I LOVE her house!  It's a little out in the middle of nowhere but it backs up to the lake and is BIG and GORGEOUS!  All she needs now is a boat,... and a boat dock lol.

We also recently decided on furniture for the baby's room!  I am veryyyy excited!
I am also very busy because our high school 10 year reunion is coming up and I have to find addresses by THURSDAY (yikes!) before our meeting on Saturday to do taste tests at the hotel venue we chose.  (I was class treasurer and my best friend Lauren was secretary so we are getting to do this together also with her step sister and good friend of mine Shasta-VP and then of course our class pres Jeremy)  It's been fun, but another thing to stress about.

Obie

We have a 12 year old cat, Obie, whom we adopted from Nashville Cat Rescue through Pet Smart.  His owner died back in March and he came with a trust fund.  His vet bills paid for the rest of his life.  Unfortunately, lately he has not been eating... anything.  It started with he tried to eat human food and threw it back up.   He then wouldn't eat his treats.  Then i noticed his cat bowl wasn't going down and never needed a refill... so i bought wet cat food.   He would sniff it and that was it!!  Feeling hopeless, and feeling his spine literally we called and made an appointment with the vet in Hillsboro Village whom he has seen before.   They said his liver was "shot".   They ran a lot of tests on him trying to see if it was Lukemia or cancer.   He is stayed overnight last night and they said he ate!!!  That little booger. I don't know why he is eating there but not here?  I think that is a good sign though.  I hope so.  I feel bad leaving him in the hospital but there is no better place for him at this very moment.  I am going to visit on my lunch to see if he is doing ok and so he knows we haven't abandoned him there.
By the way this in a way affects whether we keep the pit bull or not.  I think Obie already wasn't eating but i'm afraid the stress of the dog is what is making him worse.  If so, we are going to get rid of the dog.  We had the cat first..
I love that dog though.  I really need to find a wonderful home for her.

I am 29 weeks pregnant today!

one website says:

At this point in your pregnancy, your baby's crown-to-rump length is approximately 10.4 inches and the total length of your baby is around 16.7 inches. Your baby weighs about 2.7 pounds and continues to grow every day. If you measure from your bellybutton, your uterus is 3.5 to 4 inches above it. Total weight gain at this point is usually between 19 and 25 pounds.

Another one says:

When you are 29 weeks pregnant, your baby should be moving vigorously -- at least 10 times an hour. At this point in your pregnancy, your baby is also continuing to become more sensitive to sounds, tastes, and smells. By the time you are 29 weeks pregnant, you may be experiencing pelvic pain, heartburn, and shortness of breath.

Now you're 29 weeks pregnant -- only 12 more weeks to go.

As you embark on the final months of your pregnancy, expect to put on at least 10 more pounds. One thing to keep in mind when looking for parking spots is to make sure to have a little extra room on your side. At 29 weeks pregnant, there is no more slipping quickly in or out of the car. You may have already learned that you need to have the car door completely open so that you can get out. You may even need a little help from your partner.

a weekend freeeee

This is the plate of craving food I had in Chicago.   Jon's mom called me while at the grocery store to ask me what she should get for me because she wanted to have all of my "cravings" readily available for me. Very sweet!  Jonathan and I immediately said OLIVES, PICKLES, CHEESE!    (He's preggo too remember?!)

I forgot to mention to her anything sugary but that's ok me and Jennifer made some homemade snickerdoodle cookes while there.

I had a lot of fun while there!  I relaxed by not only a beach but a pool and my mother in law was nice, sweet, and giving the entire time.   I told Jonathan we should quit our jobs and move back home (lol) to his mom and step dad's.   They have it made there!  Country club living. Love it.

But anywho.. back to reality..   Jonathan has back surgery July 25th.  :(  BOO.  He will have to be in bed for at least a week and off work for 4.  I hope everything goes well and we don't have to continue doing these very often.   I have been worrying about this a lot.

I went to the doctor on Wednesday and the baby is growing just fine according to my belly measurement.  Unfortunately for me that means I don't get another ultrasound.  I will be 29 weeks on Tuesday...  getting closer and closer!  I think we will test drive strollers this weekend.   We had one picked out with the matching car seat & carrier but someone at work told me to be weary because she heard the one I picked out was super heavy.

Why is baby stuff so complicated?

This weekend we have no plans!!  I don't know what to do I might just go crazy but we'll see.  Jonathan asked me specifically if we could "do nothing" this weekend for once and I agreed.  Hmmm.   I doubt I can follow through.

CHICAGO!!

I am leaving today with Jonathan for Chicago!   Jonathan's friends are up there from him growing up as well as his mother and sister.   We already have lots of plans in place according to Jonathan.  He is playing golf Sunday morning with his step father...   Saturday he is in a beer pong tournament for charity downtown somewhere.   I am hoping to hit up the beach of Lake Michigan while there and to see Navy Pier.

I am in my 3rd trimester and YES it feels different.  I couldn't eat much dinner last night and felt sick... threw up.   I seriously hope I am not getting nausea now that i'm near the end!!! I never had it before in the begining like most women.

I have off half of today and all of Monday, so good riddance work!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!   Pray I do too.   Ya never know how vacations turn out...  when you're pregnant and in unfamiliar territory lol.

26 weeks!!

I’m officially 6.5 months pregnant as of yesterday.  I’m one week closer (96 days to be exact, ) to meeting our precious little baby boy. This is been the most incredible journey of my life.
Here are my likes and dislikes about pregnancy:

I dislike that my belly button is completely pushed out, I love not having to suck it all in when we take pictures, I love that I don’t have to do crunches every am and pm, I love that I can eat a bowl of ice cream and not feel guilty, I dislike not being able to drink tons of caffeine and alcohol lol.   I love every little movement, kick and flutter, I love my new bigger boobies, I dislike my limitation of clothing, I love the way my hair and skin look, I dislike not being able to tan myself adequately, I love how it brings Jonathan and I together so much more… Having a baby is truly a miracle and we are so blessed. I'm going to try to savor every single minute of these next three months.

I have started a registry at Target.com but I need to get in the store and do some hands on research.  Our bedding is at USABaby.com and I'm hoping my parents will splurge for some of it.  It's EXPENSIVE having a baby!  We aren't 100% sure on what furniture to get yet.  The original stuff we picked out is still our absolute favorite.  It's such great quality!!  However, we are young and although not exactly broke we aren't just flushed with extra cash either.  We may end up getting some furniture that's a little less expensive like from Target.  We shall see.   I want to paint the baby's room blue soon.  I CANNOT WAIT TILL WE HAVE THE ROOM READY!!!!!!  It's going to make me one super happy mommy!!

The weekend ahead!!

Thank you Jesus, it's finally Friday.   After having a carnival (I should call it a circus) at work today along with it being my co-worker's birthday and going for lunch (Urban Flats), I feel pretty drained.  I am still very excited though at heart!!  We may be camping Saturday night!  YAY!!! I thought I was too pregnant to camp but my friend Dana and her parent's have a nice, big camper with *air conditioning* and a flat screen lol.  Wohoo. We will be located at the lakeside and grilling out.  Sounds wonderful to me!  It all depends on if it rains though!!

Here's an Urban Flats' flatbread:  ((Yumm!! I had the Buffalo Chicken one))

I also have my great friend Hellen's baby shower Saturday!!!!!  I am so happy for Hellen.  She is 2 months farther along than me and her son's name is Beckham.   We have already planned the best friendship that Bechham and our baby will have!

Tonight my friend Jenny is coming by the house and I am making homemade enchiladas.  Nina came by last night and saw our place and hung out for a few.  She and I are going to meet up sometime hopefully next week as she needs to go over a guest list, etc. for one of my baby showers.  She is throwing me one.

Love my wonderful friends!!

HUMP DAY

I have sent out about 70 announcements so far..  we ordered 100.  The idea was to mainly send them to our family and a couple of close friends of the family.  Jonathan has not given me all of his family's addresses so there are some people who still need them.   I may end up re-ordering a couple depending on if we need more.  I don't want to not have enough to send out and at the same time I still have plenty left but I have no idea who we skipped on Jon's side.  I do know about 60 of the 70 were my people lol.. so i'm assuming we have a lot on his side missing.

I just got off the phone with Lebanon Heating and Air.  I was trying not to scream from my cubicle because a technician that I ordered to come out to one of our stores came and was RUDE and also walked on our roof, said the units were too old to fix, and WALKED OUT THE DOOR!  He hasn't called me with an estimate to replace or anything!   I demanded that a manager call me back and that I WOULD NOT PAY for a service call for that sort of service and we will not ever use their company again for any of our stores.   I was FUMING!!    I do not need this stress.  Seriously.  There are a few more details to the rude part and it would take too long to explain.

We went to dinner last night at Mafiaoza's with my best friend Lauren and her boyfriend Josh, another couple Natalie and her husband, and another girl..   it was fun!!!   We spend so little there since it's 2 for 1 on drinks and slices of pizza.   Our entire dinner was $15 even after Jonathan had 4 beers and we had 4 slices of pizza...   (Jon-3 Julia-1)

It's so gloomy outside.  I hate that.

It's EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION WEEK at work and I joined the committee does the party planning, etc at work.  It's called DEEC.  Today my assignment was for 45 minutes I picked up balloons for the balloon grams people can send to each other at work.   I received one today from my boss.  :)   I also received a CUUUTE gift from my friend Jenn at work.  It's a fortune cookie basket that says "I'm so fortunate to have you".

Oh yeah... any my hot water heater isn't working.  I called my landlord and he said he was trying to get someone out there this evening.   ALSO- at work we have a new security system installed for the entire corporate office so since we are the department that handles that we have had to get everyone a security badge so they can get in and out the doors STARTING TOMORROW.  WELL, certain people who are contract employees have to have their supervisor e-mail a request for them a badge since they are not on payroll & not on our list.  I have people e-mailing me 4pm the day before this goes into efffect (after we have been assigning badges ALL DAY today and yesterday) requesting a badge.  I seriously do not appreciate this!!    They aren't getting one today..   oh well..   Why do I so often feel tempted to teach people a lesson?  Maybe I shoulda been a police officer or a prosecutor instead of a Facilities Coordinator.  lol
