Back Surgery etc.

Jonathan had back surgery yesterday.  He has spinal stinosis.  It's a degenerative thing but hopefully this surgery will last a long time.   I am currently feeding our cat Obie through a feeding tube.  He has fatty liver disease, which is reversable, if he has food in him for a while.  So, eventually, he is going to be off the feeding tube.   Making the feeding tube food is NOT fun.  We have a special cat food high in calories and water and I mix it with water (all measured out perfectly) and then try and get it to come into the syringe.  That didn't work so I tried spooning it into the syringe.  That KINDA works. lol  And when you put the water and food down his tube it's kinda messy too.  It's ok because I love my cat and I want to see him get better soon!! I can tell he is a little happier now when I feed him.   I hope to see him try to eat on his own soon.

My sister had her son's 1st birthday over this weekend and we stayed at her lovely house.  I LOVE her house!  It's a little out in the middle of nowhere but it backs up to the lake and is BIG and GORGEOUS!  All she needs now is a boat,... and a boat dock lol.

We also recently decided on furniture for the baby's room!  I am veryyyy excited!
I am also very busy because our high school 10 year reunion is coming up and I have to find addresses by THURSDAY (yikes!) before our meeting on Saturday to do taste tests at the hotel venue we chose.  (I was class treasurer and my best friend Lauren was secretary so we are getting to do this together also with her step sister and good friend of mine Shasta-VP and then of course our class pres Jeremy)  It's been fun, but another thing to stress about.

Obie

We have a 12 year old cat, Obie, whom we adopted from Nashville Cat Rescue through Pet Smart.  His owner died back in March and he came with a trust fund.  His vet bills paid for the rest of his life.  Unfortunately, lately he has not been eating... anything.  It started with he tried to eat human food and threw it back up.   He then wouldn't eat his treats.  Then i noticed his cat bowl wasn't going down and never needed a refill... so i bought wet cat food.   He would sniff it and that was it!!  Feeling hopeless, and feeling his spine literally we called and made an appointment with the vet in Hillsboro Village whom he has seen before.   They said his liver was "shot".   They ran a lot of tests on him trying to see if it was Lukemia or cancer.   He is stayed overnight last night and they said he ate!!!  That little booger. I don't know why he is eating there but not here?  I think that is a good sign though.  I hope so.  I feel bad leaving him in the hospital but there is no better place for him at this very moment.  I am going to visit on my lunch to see if he is doing ok and so he knows we haven't abandoned him there.
By the way this in a way affects whether we keep the pit bull or not.  I think Obie already wasn't eating but i'm afraid the stress of the dog is what is making him worse.  If so, we are going to get rid of the dog.  We had the cat first..
I love that dog though.  I really need to find a wonderful home for her.

I am 29 weeks pregnant today!

one website says:

At this point in your pregnancy, your baby's crown-to-rump length is approximately 10.4 inches and the total length of your baby is around 16.7 inches. Your baby weighs about 2.7 pounds and continues to grow every day. If you measure from your bellybutton, your uterus is 3.5 to 4 inches above it. Total weight gain at this point is usually between 19 and 25 pounds.

Another one says:

When you are 29 weeks pregnant, your baby should be moving vigorously -- at least 10 times an hour. At this point in your pregnancy, your baby is also continuing to become more sensitive to sounds, tastes, and smells. By the time you are 29 weeks pregnant, you may be experiencing pelvic pain, heartburn, and shortness of breath.

Now you're 29 weeks pregnant -- only 12 more weeks to go.

As you embark on the final months of your pregnancy, expect to put on at least 10 more pounds. One thing to keep in mind when looking for parking spots is to make sure to have a little extra room on your side. At 29 weeks pregnant, there is no more slipping quickly in or out of the car. You may have already learned that you need to have the car door completely open so that you can get out. You may even need a little help from your partner.

a weekend freeeee

This is the plate of craving food I had in Chicago.   Jon's mom called me while at the grocery store to ask me what she should get for me because she wanted to have all of my "cravings" readily available for me. Very sweet!  Jonathan and I immediately said OLIVES, PICKLES, CHEESE!    (He's preggo too remember?!)

I forgot to mention to her anything sugary but that's ok me and Jennifer made some homemade snickerdoodle cookes while there.

I had a lot of fun while there!  I relaxed by not only a beach but a pool and my mother in law was nice, sweet, and giving the entire time.   I told Jonathan we should quit our jobs and move back home (lol) to his mom and step dad's.   They have it made there!  Country club living. Love it.

But anywho.. back to reality..   Jonathan has back surgery July 25th.  :(  BOO.  He will have to be in bed for at least a week and off work for 4.  I hope everything goes well and we don't have to continue doing these very often.   I have been worrying about this a lot.

I went to the doctor on Wednesday and the baby is growing just fine according to my belly measurement.  Unfortunately for me that means I don't get another ultrasound.  I will be 29 weeks on Tuesday...  getting closer and closer!  I think we will test drive strollers this weekend.   We had one picked out with the matching car seat & carrier but someone at work told me to be weary because she heard the one I picked out was super heavy.

Why is baby stuff so complicated?

This weekend we have no plans!!  I don't know what to do I might just go crazy but we'll see.  Jonathan asked me specifically if we could "do nothing" this weekend for once and I agreed.  Hmmm.   I doubt I can follow through.

CHICAGO!!

I am leaving today with Jonathan for Chicago!   Jonathan's friends are up there from him growing up as well as his mother and sister.   We already have lots of plans in place according to Jonathan.  He is playing golf Sunday morning with his step father...   Saturday he is in a beer pong tournament for charity downtown somewhere.   I am hoping to hit up the beach of Lake Michigan while there and to see Navy Pier.

I am in my 3rd trimester and YES it feels different.  I couldn't eat much dinner last night and felt sick... threw up.   I seriously hope I am not getting nausea now that i'm near the end!!! I never had it before in the begining like most women.

I have off half of today and all of Monday, so good riddance work!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!   Pray I do too.   Ya never know how vacations turn out...  when you're pregnant and in unfamiliar territory lol.
